Montana's Child Bridge Organization Wins Angels in Adoption Award

The organization helps more families foster and adopt children across the state

(U.S. Senate) - Senator Jon Tester announced that Montana's own Child Bridge organization will receive an Angels in Adoption award this year. Child Bridge was founded in 2010 by Steve and Mary Bryan, who wanted to increase the number of foster and adoptive families, both in their county and across the state.

"I can't think of an organization more deserving of this award than Child Bridge," Tester said. "Their mission is to connect children in need with new families, and there's not a more noble pursuit than that."

Child Bridge educates interested families about fostering and adopting options and guides them through the training, licensing, and post-placement processes. Since its inception in 2010, Child Bridge has celebrated 38 adoptions, recruited and supported families who have cared for 210 children, and helped thousands more at their monthly group meetings across the state.

"Child Bridge is all about building bridges for children who have been the victims of abuse and neglect, and the families who care for them," said Steve Bryan, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the program. "Bridges to a family, whether the child's need is temporary or permanent. Bridges to services, supports and community. Bridges to healing and transformation. We hope this recognition shines new light on the needs of the most vulnerable in our state, and that the impact created changes lives - both here and now, and generationally as well."

Tester wrote in support of Child Bridge's nomination for the Angels in Adoption award, which honors both individuals and organizations whose work positively contributes to fostering, adoption, and child welfare across the country.
