Tester Joins Montanans to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service
(Gardiner, Mont.)-Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the National Park Service:
"For over a century, National Parks have captured our country's collective imagination and revealed the true value of conservation. Our National Parks belong to all of us, and here in Montana, Yellowstone and Glacier have blessed us with world class outdoor recreation, access to abundant wildlife, and significant economic activity."
This spring, Tester helped authorize an additional $150 million per year to pay for high priority deferred maintenance needs of the National Park Service. If signed into law, this fund will be used to upgrade aging infrastructure and visitor facilities in Glacier, Yellowstone, and other National Parks across the country.
Tester is attending the National Park Service Centennial Celebration today at the Roosevelt Arch-Yellowstone National Park's first official entrance.
