Tester Announces $1.5 Million for Cascade County’s Community Health Care Center
(U.S. Senate) - Thanks to Senator Jon Tester's ongoing commitment to improving the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Cascade County will receive almost $1.5 million in funding for its Community Health Care Center.
"Local community health centers are the pillars that support healthy communities throughout Montana," Tester said. "Funding like this is critical to ensuring families, children, and all Montanans are all getting the health care they need."
Tester announced today that the Cascade City-County Health Department will receive $1,494,954 through the Community Health Center Fund, which was established by the ACA.
"This funding has grown with expanded services funding and other opportunities under the Affordable Care Act," said Leslie Southworth, CEO of the Cascade County Community Health Care Center. "These dollars help us continue to improve access and continue serving the underserved in our community.
Tester has fought hard to protect and strengthen the ACA, condemning partisan attacks on the program and introducing multiple bills to help ease the program's financial burden on small businesses, ensuring pregnant women have access to healthcare coverage, and making sure it covers the costs of contraception.
