Tester statement on Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Senator Jon Tester today issued the following statement honoring the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr,:
"Today and every day we must dedicate ourselves to equality for all Montanans and fight to eradicate the discrimination that holds us back. We still have great strides to make to ensure fairness for women, Native Americans, LGBT folks, individuals with disabilities, and everyone who has been marginalized for far too long. My hope is that we can all commit ourselves to the Montana values of dignity and acceptance."
Tester is the sponsor of a bill that makes harassment and discrimination against LGBT students illegal.
