Tester to ESPN: Expand coverage of FCS football playoffs

U.S. Sen. Jon Tester on Wednesday called on ESPN to expand its coverage of Football Championship Series playoff games, in particular those that include the University of Montana and Montana State University.

Both teams enter the first round of the NCAA Division I playoffs this weekend when the Grizzlies host the University of San Diego and the Bobcats host South Dakota State University.

But for fans across the region, watching the games won't be as easy as turning on ROOT Sports. The games only can be watched on ESPN3, or by purchasing access to ESPN's web coverage or GamePlan program.

"Montanans are thrilled to carry the energy of this past weekend forward as these teams look to make a run in the playoffs," Tester wrote in his letter to ESPN President John Skipper.
