Tester statement after Senate minority blocks his bill restoring women’s access to health care

(U.S. SENATE) – Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement after a minority of Senators blocked his bill that would prevent employers from interfering in their employee’s health care decisions:

“A minority of politicians proved they care more about giving rights to corporations than they do about women’s access to basic health care. Corporations should not be getting between a woman and her doctor.”

The Protect Women’s Health From Corporate Interference Act received 56 votes, but failed to reach the 60 votes needed to pass.

Tester’s bill has 45 cosponsors, including Senator John Walsh.
