Rocky Mountain Heritage Act celebrated near Choteau

CHOTEAU — It has been in the works for many years, and on Thursday people along the Rocky Mountain Front came together to celebrate the Rocky Mountain Heritage Act.

The measure was approved by Congress last week as part of larger bill and supporters say it’s an important step in protecting Montana’s wilderness and wildlife.

U.S. Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) says the act designate 67,000 acres as wilderness and place about 200,000 acres under management.
